On this celebration of the Lunar New Year, let us recall our own identity as fishers for people, especially those among us who are Asian or Asian-American. We here are all immigrants or descendants in some way. We here, and our ancestors, came from nations very far away. We come here, to this table, in our rich diversity, to celebrate Jesus, who called each one of us by name, to follow him and to be like him. Because we were all once foreigners or descendants of foreigners, we are called to welcome the foreigner.”

Sermon by Gale A. Yee from worship at 10:00 a.m. on Lunar New Year Sunday, January 22, 2023 at All Saints Church, Pasadena. Readings: Tobit 13:11-17, Psalm 22:23-31, I Timothy 3:14-16 and Matthew 4:18-25. Watch the sermon on YouTube.
